Hong Kong Arts Festival Concert, 26 February 2010
Post date: 15-Oct-2009 16:01:25
It is our great honour to appear in the prestigious Hong Kong Arts Festival again. We will be riding a journey that starts from the Silk Road, ending in Argentina. The concert will begin with the suite Silk Road, Silk Road by Angel Lam, which was written in 2006 for Musicarama Festival and now adding the third movement. The most prolific composer for harmonica Hui Cheung-wai is commissioned to write for harmonica quintet and guqin, which is the first of its kind, and we will be performing its world premiere together with the guqin master Tse Chun-yan. The other highlight of the concert is to perform the signature piece of the world renowned harmonica trio Adler Trio - HarmoniCadence by the Israeli composer Gronich for harmonica trio (lead, chord, bass), strings and percussion. We will be featuring the rising younger generation with Leo Ho on lead and Wesley Wong on chord. We will round up the concert with the arrangements of four works of Piazzolla by Li Cheong and Joey Kwok.
Advance booking has started and will last until 27 November. Please visit the Hong Kong Arts Festival website for more details and book early as tickets are going fast.
